The Garage Productions is an award winning production company founded by Adrienne Lovette and Elod Zoltan Filyo in 2012, originally called The Garage Theatre.  The Garage Productions focuses on diversity in front and behind the camera as well as the underrepresented. We have created several award winning films and web series, all of which showcase diversity, the LGBT community, and differently-abled people.

FOUNDER | DIRECTOR | WRITER | PRODUCER

Adrienne Lovette is an award-winning New York-based director, producer, writer, and actor. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and raised in the states. She is the founder of The Garage Productions, which has created several award-winning films and web series, all of which showcases diversity, the LGBT community, and differently-abled people. Adrienne is a self-made filmmaker-driven and inspired by stories that reveal the inner workings of the human condition. Most recently, Adrienne has produced and assistant directed a Latinx coming-of-age pilot called BROWNSVILLE BRED, which will be world premiering at the famous SXSW Film festival! She was also a winner for the SUNDANCE collab film challenge, for her film LITTLE BEAN, and has been named “Women Directing Mentorship Semifinalist” through Series Fest sponsored by Shonda Rhimes company Shondaland. Adrienne has gone on to produce several award-winning independent feature films focused on the LGBTQ+ community, and direct, write and produce several award-winning short films, web series, and music videos.  Her work can be seen on platforms such as Amazon Prime and DirecTV. Currently, Adrienne is in post-production for her psychological drama feature film, which she directed, co-wrote, produced, and starred in called I'M OKAY, WE'RE OKAY. CO-FOUNDER | PRODUCER | EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

ELOD ZOLTAN FILYO (Producer) originally from Budapest, Hungary, and the son of a well-known Hungarian artist and scenic painter, Elod is the Co-founder of The Garage Productions. He was the Executive Producer of the film 'When I'm With You' which made its way into Cinequest Film Festival 2015, Executive Producer of #INSOCIAL the comedy Insta-Series,  producer of the award-winning short  Suspense/Thriller HIDDEN DAYLIGHT, and the producer of the award-winning short featuring dead talent called SOFIE.  He has also worked for such stage shows as the first regional production of 'Spring Awakening' after its Broadway run, 'Rent', 'White Christmas'  and  'The Drowsy Chaperone. 

WRITER | PRODUCER 

John Rice is a New York City-based writer, producer, and actor whose work ranges from stage to screen. He studied Theater and Creative Writing at Fordham College at Lincoln Center, where his focus was scriptwriting and dramatic analysis. He is also an award-winning writer, producer. and founder of Man of the Crowd Productions, a production company dedicated to promoting diversity in entertainment. He wrote the award-winning suspense-thrillers called HIDDEN DAYLIGHT & THE DARK ROOM, and co-wrote the psychological drama feature called I'M OKAY, WE'RE OKAY.

WRITER | PRODUCER I DIRECTOR

Ella is a film and theatre-maker based in New York City.  She recently completed post-production for, Falling In Love With Mr. Dellamort, with Tony/Emmy winning cast: James Monroe Iglehart, Lena Hall, and Jackie Hoffman. Ella was born in Barbados and raised in Uganda, Kenya, England, and New York City. After completing her MFA at the University of London, Ella worked for a year at Darren Aronofsky’s Protozoa Pictures, as a development coordinator, reading and covering scripts. 

Film credits include: Creative Minds Fellow at Sundance, for her short film Car Battery; and Women Make Movies Fellow, for her film The Global Village Project. Ella has written and directed short films, Sofie and Earth Beneath My Feet, winning Best Short at San Francesco Film Festival and Melbourne International Film Festival. Theatre directing credits include NYC Premiere of Six Corners by Emmy Nominated Keith Huff (House of Cards, Mad Men, American Crime.); Jack Feldstein's Three Months With Pook at SOHO Playhouse; Queen Z by Michael A. Jones (starring Kara Young/Lucille Lortel nominee); and Chasing The River by Jean Dobie Geibel at Chain Theatre. Ella is the director of the Chain Playwriting Lab founded in 2019, supported by the Department of Cultural Affairs NY.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR | PRODUCER | CINEMATOGRAPHER

David Rey is a New York-based award-winning filmmaker originally from Puerto Rico. He has over fifteen years of filmmaking experience, producing, directing, and editing short films, web series, documentaries, music videos, and other artistic projects. He collaborates to create and execute a high-quality video that will capture your idea, transforming it into a cinematic expression.

CINEMATOGRAPHER | PRODUCER

Alejandro Salinas-Albrecht is a Director of Photography based out of New York City. He holds an MFA in Cinematography from UCLA. Alejandro was born and raised in Mexico City and is fluent in Spanish and German. He developed his passion for photography at an early age, and after earning his degrees, worked in Los Angeles for ten years on narrative film projects before moving to New York City. Over the years, his work has expanded to include commercials, interviews, shorts, music videos, and documentaries.

COMPOSER

Andy Freeman is an award-winning film composer and multi-instrumentalist, based in Sydney. Andy started writing music in 2004, going on to secure a degree in classical composition. Focussing primarily on traditional, orchestral, and small ensemble film music, drawing influences from composers such as Bernard Herrmann, John Williams, and Max Richter.
